1. Overview

Bobo Tab is a Chrome new tab extension focused on personalization. In its current V1 release, it customizes the new tab experience with wallpapers, appearance settings, lightweight widgets, bookmark-based local tools, and related browser-local preferences.

2. Information handled by the extension

  • Local settings and preferences. The extension stores settings such as theme preferences, wallpaper preferences, widget settings, pet settings, optional shortcut choices, AI provider configuration, and similar UI configuration in the browser's local storage.
  • Bookmark data used for local tools. If you use the optional bookmark-based local tools, Bobo Tab may read your bookmark tree and build a browser-local index from bookmark titles, URLs, folder paths, and derived page metadata. To improve local results, the extension may also fetch bookmarked HTML pages directly in your browser and extract signals such as page titles, headings, and summaries. The derived index stays local to your browser.
  • Custom wallpaper data. If you add a custom wallpaper, Bobo Tab may fetch the image directly from the URL you provide and store a local cached copy inside the browser so the wallpaper can be displayed later.
  • Optional AI provider configuration and submitted text. If you choose to use the optional AI playground or optional query rewriting tools, the extension stores the provider settings you enter locally, and the prompts or query text you submit are sent directly to the third-party provider you configure.
  • User-initiated web destination opening. If you use shortcut or search controls on the new tab page, Bobo Tab may open the web destination you chose in a browser tab using the text you entered.

3. What Bobo Tab does not do in V1

  • Bobo Tab does not require account registration or sign-in in the current V1 release.
  • Bobo Tab does not send your settings, wallpapers, bookmark index data, or shortcut preferences to a developer-operated server in the current V1 release.
  • Bobo Tab does not sell personal information.
  • Bobo Tab does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs in the current V1 release.
  • Bobo Tab does not request permissions to read browsing history, contacts, payment information, or similar sensitive browser data in the current V1 release.

4. Third-party services

If you use shortcut or search controls through Bobo Tab, your browser connects directly to the destination you choose when the page is opened. If you add a wallpaper from an external image URL, your browser may connect directly to that image host. If you use the optional bookmark-based local tools, your browser may connect directly to bookmarked sites while building or refreshing the local index. If you configure the optional AI tools, prompts or query text are sent directly to that third-party provider. Those third-party services operate under their own privacy policies.

5. Storage and retention

Data stored by Bobo Tab is kept locally in your browser unless you remove it. You can clear extension data by removing the extension or resetting the relevant settings.

6. Changes to this policy

If future versions of Bobo Tab add server features, account systems, synchronization, or new data processing behavior, this policy will be updated before or when those changes are released.

  • 自定义壁纸数据。 如果你主动添加自定义壁纸，Bobo Tab 可能会直接从你提供的图片 URL 拉取该图片，并在浏览器本地缓存一份副本，以便后续显示。
  • 可选 AI 配置与你主动提交的文本。 如果你主动使用可选的 AI Playground 或查询改写工具， 扩展会把你填写的 provider 配置保存在本地， 并把你主动提交的 prompt 或查询文本直接发送给你配置的第三方 provider。
  • 你主动触发的网页打开行为。 如果你在新标签页中使用快捷入口或搜索控件， Bobo Tab 可能会根据你输入的文本在浏览器标签页中打开你主动选择的网页目标。

3. Bobo Tab 在当前 V1 不会做什么

  • 当前 V1 版本不要求注册账号，也不要求登录。
  • 当前 V1 版本不会把你的设置、壁纸、书签索引数据或快捷入口偏好上传到开发者自有服务器。
  • 当前 V1 版本不会出售你的个人信息。
  • 当前 V1 版本不包含广告 SDK，也不包含统计分析 SDK。
  • 当前 V1 版本不申请读取浏览历史、联系人、支付信息或类似敏感浏览器数据的权限。

4. 第三方服务

如果你通过 Bobo Tab 使用快捷入口或搜索控件， 你的浏览器会在打开对应页面时直接连接你主动选择的网页目标。 如果你通过外部图片链接添加自定义壁纸，你的浏览器也可能会直接连接到该图片源站。 如果你使用可选的书签本地工具，扩展在构建或刷新本地索引时， 你的浏览器也可能直接请求对应的已收藏站点。 如果你配置并使用可选 AI 工具，你主动提交的文本会直接发送到你配置的第三方 provider。 这些第三方服务受它们各自的隐私政策约束。

5. 存储与保留

Bobo Tab 在本地保存的数据默认保留在你的浏览器中，除非你主动清除。你可以通过删除扩展、 清空扩展数据或重置相关设置来移除这些本地数据。

6. 政策更新

如果 Bobo Tab 的后续版本增加服务器接口、账号体系、同步能力或新的数据处理方式， 本隐私政策会在这些变更上线前或上线时同步更新。
